Location: Office Base is London Television Centre or Cardiff. This is a hybrid role, and the successful candidate will balance office working with home working.

THE ROLE

This role offers an exciting opportunity to join the Global News and Streaming Finance team within BBC Studios. The position reports to the Senior Finance Business Partner and collaborates with multiple stakeholders across Studios and Public Service. Key responsibilities include managing the end-to-end budget and forecast processes, and enhancing planning processes for accurate and efficient reporting across World News, Global Ad Sales, and Digital News & Streaming.

Key responsibilities and accountabilities

1. Lead annual and medium-term planning processes, focusing on P&L and cash, working with finance and cross-functional teams.
2. Manage the planning cycle timeline, ensuring timely delivery and stakeholder briefings.
3. Monitor actual performance against budget, analyze risks and opportunities, and assess implications for the full-year outlook.
4. Prepare budgets and quarterly forecasts, along with management reports for senior leadership, using innovative presentation approaches.
5. Provide regular and ad hoc financial reporting and analysis to inform decision-making, including KPI monitoring and project cost tracking.
6. Develop and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, especially Public Service colleagues.
7. Improve financial processes through data process enhancements, reconciliations, and system integrations.
8. Assist in preparing and reviewing business cases and investment proposals.
9. Line manage two finance analysts.

WHAT DOES IT TAKE?

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:

• Professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent)
• Experience in budgeting, planning, forecasting, and system uploads
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders
• Ability to work collaboratively under tight deadlines
• Experience in process improvement and financial systems controls
• Proficiency with financial systems and Microsoft Office
• UK residency

DESIRABLE CRITERIA:

• Knowledge or experience in media or broadcasting sector
