Job Description:

This is a fixed-term role (for four days per week) supporting the wind down of Grosvenor’s legacy European Assets. This role is responsible for producing high quality management and financial information on the performance of the assets and portfolio. This provides the senior leadership and executive teams with the insight and understanding to help inform when the opportune time is to exit these assets and maximise performance in the interim.

This role plays a key part in Grosvenor’s divestment from European commercial assets and will act as the conduit for all financial aspects. With great access to senior individuals in the business combined with external investors and lenders, this role offers the opportunity to directly influence Grosvenor’s profitability through accurate and relevant analysis of the assets and portfolio.

Working closely with the Finance and Asset Management teams, the candidate should be a confident communicator, able to skilfully summarise complex issues and influence senior stakeholders. The ability to develop and maintain strong relationships is therefore critical. This is an excellent opportunity to develop knowledge and skills in a large, multi-sector property investment and development business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Effective partnering with the GEurope team, being a critical and highly valued friend, helping the team to understand, communicate and enhance their performance and the risks and opportunities in achieving it.
  • Act as the “Go-to” for all financial aspects of the Portfolio. Including JV partners, asset management, internal stakeholders, and other 3rd party service providers.
  • Responsible for financial compliance of the portfolio. Both from a legal and JV perspective. This includes ensuring appropriate involvement of tax, treasury, legal, and other 3rd party service providers.
  • Lead the quarterly forecasting process for both internal and external purposes.
  • Support the annual budget and strategic planning, providing insight and challenging the direction for the team. Ensure business stakeholders understand and own their numbers to facilitate high-quality discussions, at team and executive level. In addition, this will include reporting to our external JV partners.
  • Work with the finance centre to support the production of all statutory and management reporting, which will cover UK, French, Spanish and Swedish entities.
  • Work to ensure delivery against the SLAs (reporting and financial control activities) and build appropriate technical knowledge to enhance outcomes.
  • Assist with appraisals of assets sales within the portfolio, challenging assumptions, analysing financial models, undertaking due diligence.
  • Maintain documentation on agreed processes and actively identify and implement ways to improve processes, particularly in line with Grosvenor Property UK’s environmental and sustainability goals.

Key Requirements

  • Please note that this is part-time role for four days a week.
  • Qualified accountant (3+ years PQE).
  • Experience of working in a large private or listed business. Property sector experience is advantageous.
  • Experience of business partnering – able to challenge performance, recommend improvements and demonstrate strategic thinking.
  • A self-starter with a proactive, common-sense approach.
  • Highly effective written and verbal communication with clarity and simplicity.
  • Sustainability - implements more sustainable ways of working and encourages others to improve sustainability performance.

Please note that this is a fixed term opportunity for a period of 12 months.
