Job description

We have an exciting opportunity for a Finance Business Partner - Farming at Agrial Fresh Produce, producer of the Florette salad brand, to join our farming team in Colchester, CO7 7HG. This unique role involves direct responsibility for AFF’s P&L and business partnering across two growing sites, both outdoor and indoor, harvested year-round.

The ideal candidate will be recently qualified (CIMA or equivalent) with around a year of post-qualification experience in a finance role. Reporting to the Head of Business Finance, the Finance Business Partner will support farm operations and contribute to the wider business finance team to maximize profitability. Experience with WIP Accounting or in an FMCG environment is highly desirable due to the farm's variable nature.

Working hours: Monday to Friday, 08:30 to 17:00, with hybrid working (2 days remote).

Salary: Competitive, with annual bonus eligibility.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Ownership of full P&L for the farm, including annual budgets and a 3-year business plan, with regular performance analysis.
  • Business partnering with senior farm leadership and the Procurement & Supply Chain team at our Lichfield head office.
  • Enhancing variance analysis, focusing on yield, wastage, labour, and other costs.
  • Supporting internal controls such as database management, timesheets, and forecasting.
  • Project support for process improvements, cost reviews, and other initiatives.
  • Capex management and ROI tracking.

Skills & Experience:

  • Recently qualified (CIMA or equivalent), with at least a year of post-qualification experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel; PowerBI skills are a plus.
  • Experience with WIP accounting or in FMCG is preferred.
  • Self-motivated, confident in being the finance subject matter expert on site.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills in a variable farming environment.
  • Comfortable working outdoors among fields, with occasional travel to Lichfield.
