Job description
The opportunity
At University of the Arts London, we're looking for an experienced Finance Business Partner to join our collaborative Central Finance team, where you will assist the Senior Finance Business Partner for our Estates department to provide critical insight through budgeting, forecasting, and management reporting, ensuring financial performance is aligned with UAL's long-term goals and support operational and strategic decision-making. You'll work closely with budget holders and leaders within the Estates department, providing month-end management reports, variance analysis, guidance, advice and year-end support to ensure the effective management of UAL's financial resources and long-term financial sustainability. With strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset, you'll build trusted relationships across the university, troubleshoot financial issues, and contribute to our positive team culture. You will undertake a range of responsibilities, covering business partnering, as well as financial reporting and analysis. This will involve:
- Collaborating with stakeholders within UAL's client portfolio to understand their operational and strategic priorities
- Managing financial risks and implementing effective and sustainable financial solutions
- Producing regular financial management information
- Compiling annual and ongoing budgets, as well as the annual budget setting cycle and processes
- The development and maintenance of the university wide management accounting structure
About youWhat we're looking for -
- You will be a qualified finance professional, who is able to work with budget managers in preparing large scale budgets/forecasts.
- You will have excellent communication skills and the ability to work with stakeholders to influence decision making.
- You will have had prior exposure to year-end tasks, such as accruals/prepayments, fixed asset schedules and financial reporting. You will also have had the experience of bringing a strong financial accounting skillset into the role.
- You will have experience with working on large data sets with the ability to summarise into dashboards for presenting to senior management.
