Job Title: Finance Business Partner Adult Social Care (ASC)
Location: Chelmsford, Essex (Hybrid Working)
Rate: Up to £550 per day (via Umbrella)
Contract: Full-time, 9-Month Temporary Contract
Working Pattern: Monday to Friday, 5 days per week
Start Date: ASAP

About the Role Our Client is seeking an experienced Finance Business Partner to provide strategic financial support within Adult Social Care (ASC). This is a key interim opportunity to influence decision-making at a senior level, drive service efficiencies, and ensure robust financial management in a dynamic and complex public sector environment.
This role is ideal for a proactive finance professional who can interpret and analyse financial results, provide insightful advice to stakeholders, and support evidence-based decisions across the directorate. You ll work collaboratively with senior managers, Service Directors, and Members to influence strategy, improve value for money, and support transformation initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver high-quality, insightful financial advice and support to senior stakeholders across ASC.
  • Partner with Service Directors to manage financial performance, pricing strategies, and investment planning.
  • Lead the preparation and analysis of robust business cases, assessing costs, benefits, risks, and funding solutions.
  • Produce timely and accurate financial modelling, forecasts, and performance reports.
  • Contribute to strategic decision-making by interpreting complex data and presenting clear options.
  • Promote value for money and cost-efficiency through benchmarking and trend analysis.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations and accounting standards.
  • Collaborate on cross-organisational projects, embedding commercial thinking and financial rigour.
What We re Looking For Essential:
  • Fully qualified accountant (CCAB, CIMA, CIPFA, ACCA, ACA) with evidence of ongoing CPD.
  • Proven experience across the full financial cycle, ideally within a public sector setting.
  • Strong analytical and modelling skills, with a track record of advising senior leadership.
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills, with awareness of the political and operational landscape.
  • Ability to challenge constructively and contribute to strategic discussions.
Desirable:
  • Experience supporting Adult Social Care or similar people-focused services.
  • Evidence of process improvement and system development in finance functions.
  • Demonstrated credibility and contribution within multi-disciplinary teams.
