Job summary

Holland & Barrett is seeking a Commercial Finance Business Partner in Nuneaton for a hands-on, numbers-driven role.

You will own budgeting and forecasting, analyse sales and EBITDA, and build scenarios to support commercial decisions across a category team. The role requires strong modelling, communication with senior stakeholders, and a proactive approach to driving financial performance.

Qualifications

• Experience in commercial finance or FP&A within a fast-moving organisation.
• Comfortable with detailed P&L analysis and explaining numbers to non-finance audiences.
• Strong financial modelling, budgeting/forecasting, and commercial judgement.

Responsibilities

• Partner category and commercial leaders, providing financial insight, challenge and decision support.
• Own budgeting and forecasting for your area, ensuring plans are realistic and aligned to commercial priorities.
• Analyze sales, margin, costs and EBITDA to identify drivers of variances and opportunities.
• Turn data into clear recommendations rather than just reporting results.
• Build financial models, scenarios and business cases to support commercial decisions.
• Challenge assumptions and explain financial implications of options to stakeholders.
• Support monthly reporting and ensure performance, risks and opportunities are understood.
• Track initiatives against business cases and verify benefits are delivered.
• Collaborate with Commercial Finance and broader business for a joined-up view of performance.

We offer hybrid working, with an expectation that you'll be present at our Holland & Barrett office in Nuneaton for a minimum of 2 days per week.

We're looking for a Commercial Finance Business Partner to work alongside one of our category teams, helping leaders understand performance, make better decisions and turn commercial opportunities into stronger financial outcomes.

You'll be close to the day-to-day performance of the category - understanding what's driving sales and margin, challenging assumptions and helping the team make informed choices about where to focus.

It's a hands-on commercial finance role. You'll own the core planning and reporting, but the real value comes from what you do with the numbers: asking the right questions, building the case for action and helping the business understand what happens next.

What you'll be doing

• Partner category and commercial leaders, providing financial insight, challenge and decision support.
• Own budgeting and forecasting for your area, making sure plans are realistic, understood and connected to commercial priorities.
• Get underneath performance across sales, margin, costs and EBITDA, identifying the drivers behind variances and opportunities.
• Turn financial and commercial data into clear recommendations rather than simply reporting what has happened.
• Build financial models, scenarios and business cases to support commercial decisions and investment.
• Challenge assumptions constructively and help stakeholders understand the financial implications of different options.
• Support monthly reporting, ensuring performance, risks and opportunities are clearly understood.
• Track initiatives against agreed business cases and help teams understand whether expected benefits are being delivered.
• Work closely with colleagues across Commercial Finance and the wider business to bring a joined-up view of performance.
• Look for ways to improve reporting, processes and analysis so Finance can spend more time on insight and less time producing it.

What you'll bring

• You’ll have experience in commercial finance, FP&A or business partnering within a fast-moving organisation.
• You’ll be comfortable getting into the detail of a P&L, but equally comfortable stepping away from the spreadsheet and explaining what the numbers actually mean to a non-Finance audience.
• You’ll bring strong financial modelling and analytical skills, experience with budgeting and forecasting, and the commercial judgement to challenge assumptions without becoming the person who simply says no.
• You’ll also be comfortable working with senior stakeholders and influencing without direct authority.
• Retail or consumer experience would be useful, but what matters most is that you understand how Finance can help a commercial team make better decisions.
