Job summary

The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust in London is seeking an Assistant Finance Manager to support finance and operational teams with robust financial analysis, budgeting and forecasting. You will provide business partnering insights, own month-end processes and help with annual planning and medium-term strategy.

You will work closely with operational leaders to understand financial performance, assess risks, identify opportunities and support informed decision-making across services.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering financial analysis, budgeting and forecasting at a health service or similar setting.
• Ability to provide financial advice to budget holders and senior managers.
• Proven capability to own month end processes and support long-term financial planning.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly budget statements and management reports for multiple budgets.
• Deliver forecasting, variance analysis and financial performance reporting.
• Support budget holders and senior managers with financial advice and business partnering.
• Contribute to annual budget setting and medium-term financial planning.
• Analyze financial impact of activity changes and capacity variations.
• Assist in developing business cases and investment proposals.
• Deputise for the Finance Manager when required.
• Promote financial awareness and SFIs compliance.
• Drive improvements to financial systems, reporting and processes.
