Job Title: Finance Business Partner Financial Strategy & Reporting

Client: Slough Borough Council
Location: Slough / Hybrid

We are seeking exceptional finance professionals ready for a challenging, career-defining role. The scale of the recruitment change reflects the opportunities that exist at Slough, and the challenges. The new Finance team will help support the Council to become a Best Value authority within two years. You have the opportunity to be part of the new team that achieves this goal.

We have defined slots across various services and are seeking energetic and talented finance professionals to join our team. We have vacancies in Financial Reporting, Treasury and Capital, Children's Services, Adults, Regeneration Housing and Environment, and Housing Benefits (Revenue and Benefits). We are looking for individuals who are newly qualified or seeking the next new challenge.

Responsibilities:
  1. Financial Reporting: Manage financial reporting processes and ensure accuracy of the accounts.
  2. Capital: Coordinate and support the Council's capital programmes including funding.
  3. Financial Strategy & Reporting: Coordinate Medium Term Financial Plan and monthly management reporting.
  4. Adults: Oversee financial operations in adult services.
  5. Education: Support financial management in Education including schools.
  6. High Needs Education: Provide dedicated support for Special Education Needs & Disability (SEND).
  7. Regeneration, Housing, and Environment: Manage finances for regeneration, housing, and environmental services.
  8. Public Health & Public Protection: Support financial management across services.
  9. Corporate Resources: Support the Chief Executive and S151 officer and their enabling teams.
  10. Revenue & Benefits: Support critical services that administer council tax, business rates, and housing benefits.
What You Will Do:
  1. Provide financial oversight and support across various services.
  2. Ensure accurate cost monitoring and forecasting.
  3. Collaborate with stakeholders to drive service delivery and performance.
  4. Utilise technology and accounting systems (Microsoft, Agresso) effectively.
Your Skills:
  1. Newly qualified or ambitious finance professionals with post-qualification experience.
  2. Chartered qualification preferred but not essential.
  3. Strong aptitude for numbers and ability to communicate financial information.
  4. Driven and energetic with a passion for finance.
  5. Adept with technology and standard accounting tools.
