Job summary

Chailey Heritage Foundation is seeking a senior finance professional to lead management accounts, budgeting and forecasting, and financial analysis. You will build strong relationships across the organisation, help colleagues understand financial information, and support improvements to reporting and systems.

The role demands expertise in financial modelling, data interpretation and proactive collaboration with managers and leaders to influence decisions.

Qualifications

• Experience in management accounts, budgeting and forecasting.
• Ability to translate complex financial data into clear insights for non-finance colleagues.
• Professional accounting qualification (ACCA or CIMA) required.

Job description

You\'ll work closely with managers and senior leaders across Chailey Heritage Foundation, helping them understand financial performance and make well-informed decisions. You\'ll lead on management accounts, budgeting and forecasting, financial analysis and modelling, bringing clarity to complex information and helping colleagues understand what the numbers mean for their area. Just as importantly, you\'ll build trusted working relationships across the organisation - asking good questions, bringing a different perspective and knowing when to support, influence or challenge. You\'ll also help us improve how we work, identifying opportunities to strengthen reporting, make better use of systems and automation, and improve the efficiency and consistency of our financial processes. As a senior member of the Finance Team, you\'ll support colleagues within the team, work closely with the Finance Operations Manager and deputise for the Head of Finance when required.

You\'ll be an experienced finance professional who enjoys working with people as much as working with numbers. You\'ll be comfortable building relationships across an organisation, making complex information accessible and using your expertise to help others make good decisions. You\'ll bring:

• Strong experience across management accounts, budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis
• The confidence and people skills to build effective relationships with colleagues at different levels
• The ability to make financial information clear and accessible to non-finance colleagues
• Strong analytical skills, with experience of financial modelling and using data to provide useful insight
• A proactive approach, good judgement and the confidence to ask questions and challenge when needed
• Strong Excel skills and experience using financial systems and reporting tools
• A recognised professional accounting qualification, such as ACCA or CIMA

Experience within the charity sector and knowledge of charity SORP would be an advantage, but isn\'t essential.
