About the roleAs Finance Business Partner, you will work across all areas of the business, including Retail, Operations, Marketing, E-commerce, and Central Functions building strong relationships and delivering insight that informs decision-making and drives performance.
You will also take ownership of managing and mentoring members of the finance team and oversee the day to day running of the Accounts Payable (AP) function ensuring strong financial controls and operational efficiencies.
Whilst the role partners with all functions, there will be a particular emphasis on supporting Retail and Operational teams, ensuring alignment between financial goals and operational delivery. You'll act as a trusted advisor, providing challenge, support, and clarity to help leaders make informed, strategic, and financially sound decisions.
As a member of the Wider Leadership Team you will provide challenge and partnership to your peers and their teams across all areas and provide insight and information to the SLT in regular meetings.
Key ResponsibilitiesStrategic Business Partnering- Develop strong, collaborative relationships across all departments, acting as the key finance contact for strategic and day-to-day support.
- Deliver financial insight that helps shape business priorities and ensures alignment to company goals.
- Be proactive in identifying risks, opportunities, and areas for efficiency or investment.
Retail and Operations Focus- Support Retail and Operational teams with store performance analysis, labour budgeting, productivity reporting, and cost control.
- Help retail leaders understand and act on financial performance, supporting store-level decision-making and regional initiatives.
- Partner with Operational functions (e.g. Logistics, Warehouse, Customer Experience) to understand cost drivers, efficiency opportunities, and investment decisions.
Forecasting, Budgeting and Planning- Lead the budgeting and reforecasting processes for all functional areas, aligning plans with strategic goals and operational realities.
- Support long-term planning through data modelling, scenario planning, and business case development.
Reporting and Analysis- Develop and deliver regular reporting packs and dashboards tailored to different stakeholders' needs.
- Translate financial data into meaningful narratives, focusing on actionable insights and clear recommendations.
Projects and Change- Support or lead cross-functional projects, including new initiatives, systems improvements, and process enhancements.
- Deliver post-implementation reviews and ROI analysis to evaluate success and drive continuous improvement.
Leadership and team development- Leading the AP team and the Assistant Management Accountant, supporting their development and training.
- Improving processes across the business to ensure accuracy of information and financial and process efficiencies.
About you- You will be a qualified accountant (CIMA/ACCA/ACA or equivalent).
- Proven experience in a Finance Business Partner or Commercial Finance role, ideally in a fast-paced, multi-functional environment (retail experience beneficial).
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the confidence to influence at all levels.
- Analytical and commercially minded, with the ability to distil complex data into clear insights.
- A proactive, self-starting approach with a passion for making a tangible difference through finance.
- Strong Excel skills.
