James Fisher and Sons plc is seeking a commercially focused Finance Business Partner to work across product lines and operations. The role partners with product heads and teams to improve forecasting, reporting quality and financial discipline, while supporting the ERP transformation program.

The position is hybrid in Inchinnan/Glasgow with full-time, permanent status. You will champion efficient processes, cost control and long‑term value, requiring professional accounting qualifications and UK

• Qualified accountant with IFRS/GAAP and UK statutory compliance.
• Proven experience in a Finance Business Partnering role.
• Experience supporting ERP implementations and process design.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Product Line Heads and operational teams to drive forecasting, reporting, and month-end activities.
• Support budgeting, forecast accuracy, and financial discipline.
• Prepare management information, KPI reporting and insights for leadership decision-making.
• Drive finance process improvements to enhance efficiency, controls and performance.
• Provide Finance SME support for transformation and ERP projects across R2R, O2C and P2P.
• Lead data quality, migration and UAT for ERP implementation.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Partner with Defence Product Line teams to deliver forecasting, reporting, revenue recognition and month-end activities, while driving continuous improvement.
• Support financial planning, budgeting and forecasting, improving forecast accuracy, reporting standards and financial discipline.
• Prepare management information, KPI reporting and financial insights to support business and leadership decision-making.
• Drive finance process improvements that enhance efficiency, controls and commercial performance.
• Provide Finance SME support for transformation and ERP projects, working with cross-functional teams to standardise processes and embed best practice.
• Support ERP process design across R2R, O2C and P2P, ensuring alignment with finance requirements, controls and compliance standards.
• Lead Finance data quality, migration and UAT activities, ensuring successful system implementation and adoption.
• Act as a key stakeholder in system and process design, improving cost accuracy, resource planning, operational performance and financial insight.
• Support change management, training and stakeholder engagement to drive collaboration and successful transformation outcomes.
• Some regular travel to Aberdeen will be required alongside occasional international travel.

What we’re looking for:

• Professionally qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CPA or equivalent) with a strong understanding of IFRS/GAAP standards and statutory compliance requirements.
• Proven experience in a Finance Business Partnering role, providing insight, challenge and support to operational stakeholders.
• Experience supporting ERP implementation programmes, from process design and configuration through to testing, deployment and go-live.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to simplify complex financial processes, implement effective controls and resolve data and system issues.
• Experience operating within multi-site, international organisations, with exposure to diverse regulatory and compliance environments.
• Ability to translate business and finance requirements into effective system, process and data solutions that support operational and strategic objectives.
