A leading UK university in Portsmouth is seeking a Finance Business Partner to help shape and deliver financially sustainable plans. This role involves financial analysis, stakeholder engagement, and overseeing financial activities. The Finance Business Partner will work in partnership with leaders, key stakeholders, and Finance colleagues to shape, develop and deliver financially sustainable faculty/professional services plans and solutions in line with the priorities of the University. Operating as a financial expert, the role will advise, guide and support managers and staff by providing added value financial analysis and insights including forecasting and a rolling 3-5 year financial plan. The role will oversee all financial activities within a faculty/professional service including month/year end activities (revenue and capital), and the costing and management of research, innovation, and commercial awards. The role is responsible for ensuring the integrity of financial transactions, the provision of accurate and timely management information that is action orientated, the application of financial regulations and policies, and managing the relationships between the Finance department and the business units. The role is responsible for constructively challenging budget holders to ensure delivery of savings and/or contribution targets.
Whilst there is a need to be in Portsmouth a few days a week, hybrid working is available for this role. We may be able to support a part time appointment for this position. We current anticipate interviews being held either at the end of October or early November.
