Finance Business Partner

About you:
This role will be part of the Divisional executive team and Commercial Finance who will be a trusted financial advisor to the senior executives and deliver quality financial support for the business. This role will require the individual to provide financial leadership, strategic direction, and oversight for the financial activities across the Division. This role involves driving financial performance, ensuring compliance with financial regulations and aligning financial strategies with the division's business objectives.

Day-to-day, you will:

  1. Form a strong partnership with the Divisional Managing Director and their leadership team. A trusted advisor and hands-on partner to support and challenge the business to achieve maximum results.
  2. Provide accurate and timely financial reporting, analysis, and insights to support decision-making at the executive and board levels.
  3. Effectively use financial information to provide the business with better insight into business performance and trajectory and opportunities for growth.
  4. Drive optimisation of financial performance and manage to target metrics.
  5. Lead improvements in delivering business predictability through a robust forecasting and review framework.
  6. Support the business in developing and executing on an effective business strategy.
  7. Lead the planning and budgeting process for the Division.
  8. Be an active member of the Finance function and drive finance process improvements.
  9. Build and review business cases and ensure that the right commercial decisions are made for the Group.
  10. Oversee integration of acquisitions.
  11. Oversee risk management and compliance related to financial operations in line with financial regulations, industry standards and company policies.
  12. Manage cash flow, liquidity, and working capital effectively to support the division's operations and growth initiatives in the division.
  13. Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including investors, financial institutions, auditors, and regulators, to ensure transparency and compliance.

Your skills and experiences might also include:
  1. Experienced FBP, with accredited financial qualifications, e.g. ACA/CIMA/ACCA/MBA.
  2. Commercially aware with proven ability to identify and drive strategy, who is results oriented.
  3. Able to partner with and influence senior non-finance business execs.
  4. Capability to operate effectively in a matrixed environment.
  5. Excellent communication and presentation skills capable of conveying complex financial information clearly to diverse audiences.
  6. Excellent decision-making capabilities and experience in providing financial guidance to senior executives.
  7. Ability to foster cross-functional relationships to drive a collaborative environment and improve efficiencies.
  8. Resilience and ability to operate in a high growth and fast-paced environment.
  9. Expertise in financial modelling (strong Excel skills required) and some experience in investment appraisal.
  10. Experience in software related business specifically in revenue growth & pricing.
  11. Can operate effectively in a virtual team environment across multiple locations.
  12. M&A / Corporate Finance experience preferred.
  13. Detailed operational understanding of the software industry, and a recurring/subscription commercial framework would be preferable.
