Job description

An ambitious and deeply values-led national charity is looking for a Finance Business Partnerto provide strategic and operational finance support across their diverse projects. This is a newly created role with the scope to drive improvements in financial planning, reporting and impact evaluation.

The key duties of this Finance Business Partner are as follows:

  • Lead on all financial aspects of contracting, including profitability, cashflow, and bid support.
  • Produce monthly management reports by project and department, highlighting variances and risks.
  • Partner with budget holders across the organisation, providing support, training and challenge.
  • Develop and maintain robust project costing and forecasting models.
  • Ensure donor and commissioner financial reports are accurate and timely.
  • Improve finance systems and reporting processes to enhance self-service and real-time access.
  • Horizon scan for changes in external conditions that may impact project performance.
  • Analyse return on investment of fundraising activities and other initiatives.

This is a rare opportunity to make a tangible difference while working within a collaborative, progressive and mission-led team. You’ll work closely with the Director of Finance & ICT and other senior stakeholders, gaining broad exposure across the organisation’s national operations and income streams.

The successful candidate will be:

  • A fully qualified accountant (or finalist) with strong experience in business partnering.
  • Ideally, experienced in the financial management of contracts or externally funded projects.
  • Commercially aware with sound judgement and the ability to analyse and explain complex data.
  • A confident communicator, able to influence and support non-finance stakeholders.
  • Experienced in financial modelling & process improvement.
  • Ideally familiar with the charity or non-profit sector and its funding environment.

This role offers hybrid working, with two days per week based near Putney.
