The successful candidate will be an integral part of a high-performing finance team, providing vital financial insight, supporting budgeting and forecasting, and engaging with stakeholders effectively. Ideal candidates will hold a part-qualified accounting qualification and possess robust analytical skills necessary for driving financial performance.
Finance Business Partner – Glasgow/Hybrid – 6-month contract
On behalf of our public sector client, we are recruiting a Finance Business Partner to join a high-performing finance team providing essential financial insight and support across the organisation. This is a key role in driving effective financial planning, performance monitoring, and stakeholder engagement.
Duties:
·Provide financial support and analysis to business units
·Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and period-end reporting
·Prepare accruals and adjustments, and ensure account validation
·Ensure compliance with financial governance and internal controls
·Conduct financial analysis to identify risks and opportunities
·Support investment appraisals and cost modelling
·Identify, assess, and manage commercial risks
Essential Skills & Experience
·Part-qualified or working towards a professional accounting qualification (CIMA / ACCA)
·Strong Excel and financial data analysis skills
·Solid understanding of financial control, risk, and compliance
·Excellent communication and influencing skills
·Experience in financial planning and reporting
·Ability to translate complex accounting principles into practical insight
·Proven stakeholder engagement and business partnering experience
Desirable
·Fully qualified accountant (CIMA / ACCA / ICAEW)
·Experience working in complex or fast-paced financial environments
·Familiarity with project management principles
·Degree or equivalent in Finance, Accounting, or Business Management
·Experience with Oracle-based systems and Power BI
