Responsibilities
- Financial Accounting: Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring accurate and timely recording of all financial transactions.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with UK GAAP and applicable standards.
- Accounts Payable and Receivable: Manage accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring timely payments and collections.
- General Ledger Management: Maintain the integrity of the general ledger, including reconciliations and month-end close processes.
- Statutory Compliance: Ensure compliance with UK accounting standards, tax regulations, and statutory reporting requirements.
- Audit Support: Coordinate with external auditors for annual audits and statutory filings.
- Financial Analysis: Provide financial analysis and insights to support management decision-making.
- Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in accounting operations.
- Team Management: Supervise and develop junior accounting staff.
Qualifications
- Chartered Accountant (CA) qualification.
- Knowledge of UK accounting standards and practices (additional UK qualifications like ACCA would be advantageous).
- 8-10 years of experience in accounting roles, with mandatory funding experience.
- Experience in the retail or energy sector preferred.
- Familiarity with UK accounting standards, tax regulations, and statutory reporting requirements.
- Strong technical accounting skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in accounting software and advanced Excel skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Team management and leadership skills.
- Adaptability to changing regulatory environments.
Salary Package:
£80,000.00 - £120,000.00 (British Pound Sterling)
