Job description

Fixed Term Contact – Finance Business Partner

Location: Cambridge, CB5 (on-site working)

Duration: 6 months

Salary: £55,000 per annum

Hours: Full time, Monday to Friday

This role is crucial in delivering the College’s Deficit Reduction programme.

Principal Accountabilities:

  • Collaborate with Heads of Department, Head of Finance, and Management Accountant to provide comprehensive operational management reports and dashboards for monitoring the Deficit Reduction programme.
  • Work closely with Senior Leaders and Heads of Departments to implement the Deficit Reduction programme.
  • Evaluate departmental software usage and consider improvements.
  • Demonstrate a thorough understanding of costs, working capital, balance sheet, and capex drivers, translating this into actionable insights and plans.
  • Prepare ad hoc financial analysis to support tactical and strategic decision-making, including process optimisation suggestions.

Person Specification:

  • Professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACA, CIMA or equivalent)
  • Significant experience in financial cost management and analysis
  • Good analytical skills, including Intermediate/Advanced Excel skills (Essential)
