Job description

We have an amazing opportunity for a Finance Business Partner to join our Finance Team.

In this role of Senior Finance Business Partner you will be the primary finance partner for UK manufacturing facility in Melsonby (£1m cost base) with potential expansion pipeline, Business Partner for North Region Signs and Signals Operations (£24m turnover) and Business Partner to R&D Department (£2m annual spend) ensuring appropriate levels of capitalisation.

The role is based in Basingstoke with the wider finance team but requires travel to Melsonby, Richmond with 2-3 overnight stay on a quarterly basis.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support UK manufacturing facility to analyse efficiency, break even analysis and cost recoverability.
  • Analyse how the manufacturing facility drives value and delivers to Operations.
  • Support manufacturing expansion pipeline in implementation and execution phase.
  • Support manufacturing management team through month end reporting, analysis, budgets, forecasts.
  • Be able to analyse and calculate standards costs and labour rates.
  • Be able to challenge management in constructive ways and suggest areas for improvement.
  • Understand the materials management and support in stock reporting and management.
  • Undertake regular finance reviews (reporting packs and analysis) with the management teams and report back to Finance Director and SLT.
  • Understand and manage the cost center reporting and cost structure in SAP.
  • Suggest key finance KPI’s for manufacturing team and track against them.
  • Proactively investigate operational results for the North region and suggest areas for improvement.
  • Ensure finance reviews and rigour are in place to monitor operational results across the North region and provide insight to the Finance Director.
  • Work with the UK Engineering and R&D team to prioritise projects with commercial value, ensuring value add to the business and monitor capitalisation levels and rationale.
  • Support all areas with month end reporting, budgeting and forecasting.
Your Profile
  • SAP 4HANA experience preferred.
  • Experience of manufacturing and or service and projects preferred.
  • Knowledge of stock management, costing and provision calculations.
  • Ability to influence others cross functionally.
  • Self-starter with proactive mindset.
  • Continuous improvement approach.
  • Ability to deliver efficiency initiatives and manage own time.
  • Ability to prioritise own workload and flexibility to changing demands.
  • Team player.
  • Intermediate to advance technical and modelling skills.
  • Intermediate to advanced excel skills.

  • Sound knowledge of key Finance principles.
