W&A is delighted to support a large, well-established commercial growing business based in Arbroath with entities around the globe.

An opportunity has arisen for a Finance Business Partner to join the business. The role will support both the operational activities within financial control and a range of value-add and process improvement initiatives.

As the business has grown, finance aims to provide the best possible service to facilitate this growth.

The Finance Business Partner will work closely with the Group Financial Controller to identify, shape, and implement initiatives covering Financial Controls, Processes, Compliance, Reporting, MI, and Systems.

This role suits an individual with experience managing multiple finance projects with conflicting deadlines. It will be challenging but impactful, helping the financial control function become more operationally effective and better support the business.

Overview of the role:
  1. Participate in developing and achieving the Finance Departmental Vision
  2. Support the development of improved financial information systems and processes
  3. Prepare monthly accounts in line with group timetable and policies
  4. Investigate and prepare variance reports comparing actuals to budgets and forecasts
  5. Complete monthly journals (accruals, prepayments, fixed assets, HP)
  6. Manage monthly departmental reports for budget holders
  7. Assist in budget and forecast reviews
  8. Support cashflow preparation and monitoring
  9. Prepare/review VAT and Intrastat returns
  10. Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations
  11. Prepare year-end schedules for external audits
  12. Provide cover for other entities during month-end and other periods
  13. Review monthly payroll processing by third-party providers
  14. Guide and support the weekly payroll team
Individual:
  • Ideally, a fully qualified Accountant
  • Strong understanding of Financial Control fundamentals
  • Experience in Process Improvement and Projects
  • Experience developing and optimizing finance systems
  • Ability to manage multiple, conflicting deadlines
  • Committed to high-quality outcomes
  • Strong interpersonal skills to build relationships across the business
