Overview

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare monthly management accounts and financial reports for senior stakeholders
  • Submit monthly budget monitoring reports to the Scottish Government
  • Act as a finance business partner to budget holders, supporting budget profiling and monitoring
  • Assist in developing new reporting tools within the finance system
  • Support the preparation of annual statutory accounts and liaise with external auditors
  • Interpret and apply changes in public sector financial regulations and accounting standards
  • Provide financial advice and guidance across the organisation
  • Contribute to the documentation and improvement of financial policies and procedures
Skills & Experience
  • Part-qualified accountant with hands-on experience in management accounting, budgeting and forecasting
  • Strong working knowledge of finance systems and month-end processes
  • Intermediate Excel skills and ability to extract and analyse financial data
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to translate financial information for non-finance audiences
  • A proactive, collaborative approach and ability to meet deadlines
