A leading research organization in the UK is looking for a Finance Manager to enhance financial reporting and support budgeting processes. The role involves supervising the finance team, managing research contracts, and ensuring compliance. Ideal candidates will have a recognized accountancy qualification and experience in charity or research sectors. You will work closely with the Head of Finance and Senior Finance Partners to provide a business partnering approach, ensure compliance across services, and deliver accurate information to internal/external stakeholders, funders, and regulatory bodies.
You will analyze the financial drivers of the organization—revenue, costs, and cash flow—to enhance reporting and support financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting processes, including monthly Management Accounts for the Group.
You will oversee the financial management of approximately 100 research contracts, monitor financial performance, and advise science project leaders on financial and administrative matters to ensure funding proposals meet funder and internal guidelines.
You will provide supervisory and coaching support to the Finance team and assist the Head of Finance with accounting activities, deputizing as needed.
