Job summary

Scottish Government OGD Recruitment in the Education Directorate seeks a Financial Assurance Manager at C1 grade to oversee the management of public money, align with SG policies, and support workforce planning and risk.

The role requires a flexible and adaptable approach to managing tasks and programmes, partnering across the Team, Directorate and wider SG community, with leadership of the BSU Finance Team.

Qualifications

• This role will drive effective decision making and stewardship in relation to the use of public money.
• Experience in a financial environment and knowledge of corporate assurance requirements and practices.

Responsibilities

• Lead on the strategic approach to effective management of Scottish Government finances in accordance with SG policies and guidelines.
• Support corporate assurance priorities including workforce planning and risk.
• Oversee and develop the BSU Finance Team and provide line management to finance staff.
