Job description

BMC Recruitment Group is currently recruiting for a Temporary Finance Assistant for their client in Team Valley, Gateshead. There is a possibility that this role may become permanent due to the company's expansion plans.

This is a varied role that involves both accounting and administrative tasks. You should be prepared to start immediately and work effectively with the team. This role requires adaptability and a proactive attitude.

  • Full-time position, 40 hours a week, with an early finish at 2:30 pm on Fridays

Your responsibilities include:
  • Dealing with supplier queries via telephone and email
  • Reconciling supplier statements
  • Cash allocation and cash books management
  • Bank reconciliations
  • Raising customer invoices and issuing statements
  • Supporting the team and working flexibly within the central team
You will need:
  • AAT qualification preferred but not essential
  • Proven experience in a finance or accounts role
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Willingness to support other areas of a growing business
  • Keen to learn and develop skills
  • Strong IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
  • Experience with or knowledge of Xero, Sage, or QuickBooks is a plus but not required
