Job summary

Consortium Professional Recruitment Ltd in Pocklington is seeking a Finance Assistant who thrives on taking responsibility and ensuring tasks are completed on time. You’ll contribute across payroll, ledgers and financial reporting, gaining exposure to month-end processes and VAT returns.

You should be comfortable with numbers, enjoy problem-solving and be reliable in following through, with familiarity with Sage or Xero helpful and a constructive, team-facing approach.

Qualifications

• Experience in finance or payroll and understanding of how accurate financial information supports a business.
• Proficient with spreadsheets and financial systems.
• Methodical approach with the ability to spot discrepancies and follow through.

Responsibilities

• Process monthly payroll (PAYE, pensions, P60s, P11Ds).
• Maintain purchase and sales ledgers, invoices, expenses, supplier payments and credit control.
• Complete bank and credit card reconciliations; administer petty cash and fixed assets.
