Job Description:

Fixed Term Contract June 2025 for around 15 months. Tuckwells are seeking a Finance Assistant to join their team. Initially a 15-month maternity cover, this role could develop into a permanent position. We are looking for someone who loves problem solving, thinks analytically, and is a good communicator who will fit our friendly yet professional work culture.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist with month-end tasks such as preparing and posting general ledger journals and completing general ledger transactions analysis as scheduled in the month-end close schedule.
  • Prepare selected profit and loss ledger accounts analysis.
  • Support preparation of monthly accounts.
  • Assist with sales ledger reconciliations.
  • General upkeep and maintenance of the fixed asset register.
  • Assist the wider finance function as required.
  • Provide support in dealing with telephone calls and general office administration, where required.
Skills and Qualifications:
  • Effective communication skills and ability to work well in a team.
  • Ability to analyse data and enjoy problem solving.
  • Highly motivated with a curious mind willing to learn new skills.
  • Comfortable using Microsoft Office, Word, and Excel.
  • Educated to A level standard with a high level of numeracy and literacy (GCSE Grade C/5 or above in Maths and English).
  • Ability to manage your own time and work to deadlines.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Previous experience within an Accounts department (1-2 years) would be an advantage but is not required.
