About Us

A thriving and inclusive secondary school located in Watford are currently seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Finance Assistant to join a friendly and professional administrative team. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the smooth financial running of the school and support the delivery of high-quality education.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the School Business Manager in the day-to-day financial operations.

  • Process purchase orders, invoices, and payments in accordance with financial procedures.

  • Reconcile transactions and maintain accurate financial records.

  • Assist with budget monitoring and reporting.

  • Manage petty cash and school trip payments.

  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and school policies.

Person Specification:

Essential:

  • Experience working in a finance or administrative role. (In a school would be ideal)

  • Strong numeracy skills and attention to detail.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and financial software (e.g., SIMS/FMS or similar).

  • Excellent organisational and communication skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Discretion and professionalism when handling confidential information.

Desirable:

  • Previous experience in an educational setting.

  • Knowledge of school financial systems and processes.
