Role

Finance Assistant

Location: Plymouth

Salary: £24,956 per annum rising to £25,350 per annum on successful completion of probation

Hours: 37.5 hours per week

Vacancy Type: fixed term until May 2026 with the potential for extension subject to future funding or Permanent role.

Closing Date : 09:00 on 3 October 2025

Responsibilities
  • The Finance Assistant role will provide comprehensive support to the Head of Finance and work closely with Central Services to ensure the smooth day-to-day administration of the finance office. Providing support and advice on policies and procedures within their remit.
  • Accurate processing of the Purchase Ledger ensuring set deadlines are met.
  • Ensure data is processed in line with authorised budgets.
  • Administer expense claims as per the expenses policy and petty cash.
  • Queries are resolved in a timely manner.
  • Supporting all colleagues with financial advice in collaboration with policies and procedures.
  • Maintain internal accounting databases and spreadsheets.
  • Assist with ad hoc projects.
