Job description

Finance Assistant (Hybrid) needed in Kidlington, £15.54ph

PAYE – Reference: 365448

You will ideally have an AAT Level 2 Qualification.

  1. Responsible for maintaining accurate and timely accounting records in accordance with legislation, accounting standards, and data retention regulations. Ensure financial records are audit-ready.
  2. Accurately update financial systems managing approximately £530m revenue and £35m capital budgets.
  3. Perform routine administrative functions, including reviewing requisitions, managing the SSAMi system, invoicing customers, and handling income received. Manage Outlook and SSAMi inboxes, address queries, and provide guidance. Contribute to the development of the intranet page.
  4. Enable informed decision-making by analyzing, collating, extracting, reconciling, and manipulating financial data. Ensure timely reconciliation and resolution of control accounts to safeguard public funds.
  5. Investigate financial processes and data, raising issues to support internal audits.
  6. Manage tasks according to the statutory year-end timetable.
  7. Provide financial administrative advice to team members, ensuring compliance with financial regulations.

This is a full-time role on a temporary contract basis.
