Job summary

The Shakespeare Hospice in England is seeking a Finance Assistant to support income processing and a broad range of finance activities across its retail, fundraising and operations. You will work with colleagues, suppliers and funders to maintain accurate records and ensure transactions follow Hospice procedures.

You will have experience in a similar role with ledgers, VAT knowledge and strong Excel skills, and you may benefit from familiarity with Xero or CRM systems.

Qualifications

• Experience in a similar finance role with sales and purchase ledgers.
• Basic understanding of VAT and financial controls.
• Strong Excel skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Process income from retail, fundraising and online platforms with accurate records.
• Produce and process invoices and support supplier payments.
• Reconcile control accounts, bank and retail accounts.
• Maintain up-to-date supplier, donor and customer records.
• Apply budget, department and VAT coding with proper authorisation.
• Manage Gift Aid records and ensure audit trails for HMRC.
• Import data into CRM and ensure systems alignment.
