Job description

Main Purpose of the Job:

Sycurio is seeking a Finance Assistant responsible for all aspects of the purchase ledger and other finance-related tasks. The role reports to the Financial Controller and works closely with the Management Accountant and AR Finance Assistant.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Maintain the Purchase Ledger by ensuring supplier invoices are matched to relevant purchase orders, accurately coded, and authorized promptly.
  2. Process supplier payment runs twice a month, along with ad hoc credit card and bank payments.
  3. Follow up with managers for supplier invoice approvals regularly.
  4. Check and process employee expense claims.
  5. Upload monthly credit card statements and assist with credit card payments as needed.
  6. Perform weekly bank reconciliations and close banks at month-end.
  7. Chase submissions and approvals of timesheets.
  8. Monitor the finance inbox daily.
  9. Ensure correct application of VAT codes on purchases.
  10. Reconcile monthly supplier statements.
  11. Perform other tasks as required from time to time.

Key Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel.
  • Detail-oriented and able to meet deadlines.
  • Capable of working independently and as part of a team.
  • Self-motivated and diligent.
  • 4-5 GCSEs grades 5-9, including grade 5+ in English and Maths, or equivalent.
  • Experience with Netsuite CRM system is desirable but not essential.
