Job summary

CMA Recruitment Group is partnering with a long-established local employer to recruit a Progressive Finance Assistant. This full-time, office-based role is ideal for someone with early finance experience who wants to establish a long-term career in finance with clear development opportunities.

You will work closely with the financial controller, handling sales and purchase ledger tasks, bank reconciliations, month-end processes, and contributing to management accounts as you grow.

Qualifications

• Currently studying towards AAT Level 3 or 4 or equivalent (ACCA/ACA/CIMA) or qualified by experience.
• Solid understanding of double-entry bookkeeping.
• Strong numerical skills with excellent attention to detail.
• Desire to develop a long-term career in finance and take on increasing responsibility.
• Confident communicator with the ability to build relationships.

Responsibilities

• Processing sales ledger transactions, cash receipts and associated reconciliations.
• Maintaining and reconciling company credit card and petty cash records.
• Assisting with purchase ledger activities during peak periods.
• Bank reconciliations.
• Assist with month end processes.
• Production of management accounts as your experience within the business develops.
• Contributing to finance process improvements and future digitalisation projects.
• Work extremely closely with the financial controller, who will provide ongoing training and mentorship as your role grows within the business.
