Job summary

Lloyd Barnes Recruitment is assisting a well-established Plymouth-based organisation to recruit a Finance Assistant on a full-time, permanent basis. You will oversee costs, process invoices, and support month-end reporting within a busy finance team.

The role requires experience in finance, strong Excel skills, attention to detail and the ability to manage deadlines in a proactive, organised manner. AAT qualification preferred.

Qualifications

• Previous experience within a finance or accounts environment.
• AAT qualified or studying towards a relevant financial qualification preferred
• Strong analytical skills with good attention to detail and accuracy
• Confident using Excel, with intermediate to advanced skills
• Well organised, communicative and able to manage competing deadlines

Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of costs and balance sheet accounts
• Process invoices accurately and within agreed deadlines
• Prepare accruals, prepayments and month-end journals
• Monitor expenditure against budgets and investigate variances
• Complete regular account reconciliations
• Support fixed asset and depreciation accounting
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting and financial planning
• Support month-end, year-end and wider finance activities
