Job summary

NFU Energy in Stoneleigh, Warwickshire, is seeking a Finance Assistant to join the Finance team. This permanent, full-time role (37 hours) offers a salary of £28,000–£30,000 per annum and a benefits package including pension and life assurance.

You will work closely with the Senior Finance Manager on key areas such as accounts receivable, bank reconciliations and aged debt, with potential exposure to broader finance activities as you grow with the team.

Qualifications

• Experience in a Finance Assistant, Accounts Assistant or similar role.
• Experience in accounts receivable and/or general transactional finance.
• Some experience of reconciliations.
• Good Excel skills.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Ability to organise workload and meet deadlines.
• Confidence investigating differences rather than just processing transactions.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills to engage customers by phone and work with colleagues outside Finance.

Responsibilities

• Managing accounts receivable processes across different areas of the business.
• Raising and processing customer invoices.
• Maintaining accurate customer accounts.
• Allocating receipts and completing bank reconciliations.
• Managing aged debt and supporting credit control.
• Preparing and posting finance journals.
• Completing month-end reconciliations.
• Investigating discrepancies and resolving queries.
• Supporting wider Finance team during month-end, year-end and audit activities.
• Providing cover across other Finance processes where required.
