Job summary

Halfords Careers is seeking a Finance Assistant in Accounts Payable to join our Finance Shared Services team. You will process supplier invoices, resolve payment queries, and reconcile accounts, ensuring timely and accurate payments across the garage network.

This fast-paced role values attention to detail, strong organisational skills, and experience in Accounts Payable. SAP knowledge is advantageous but not essential, and a hybrid on-site/remote setup is available with two days at our Redditch

Responsibilities

• Manage the end-to-end Accounts Payable process, ensuring invoices are processed accurately and payments are made on time.
• Build relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders to resolve invoice, payment and PO queries.
• Reconcile supplier accounts, investigate discrepancies and historic balances, and support audit requirements.
• Assist operational teams with invoice matching and reporting to improve compliance.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the Finance Shared Services team.

Finance Assistant - Accounts Payable

About the role

Join our Finance Shared Services team and play a key role in ensuring suppliers are paid accurately and on time, helping to keep our garage operations running smoothly. You'll be responsible for processing invoices, resolving supplier and payment queries, reconciling accounts, and building strong relationships with both suppliers and internal stakeholders.

This is a fast-paced role suited to someone with excellent attention to detail, strong organisational skills, and previous Accounts Payable experience. You'll have the opportunity to contribute to continuous improvement initiatives while developing your finance knowledge within a supportive and evolving team environment.

At Halfords, we operate a hybrid working policy with 2 days on site at our Support Centre in Redditch.

Key responsibilities

About you

• Previous experience in a Financial or Accounts Payable role – Advantageous, not essential
• Strong time management skills with a “get up and go” attitude towards problem solving and working to deadlines
• SAP knowledge is advantageous, but not essential
• Strong knowledge of MS Office applications (Mostly Excel, SharePoint & Teams)
• Strongcommunicationskill- especially with key stakeholdersboth in person and telephone
