Description: Finance Assistant - 6-Month Contract (Potential to Go Permanent)
Location: Watford (Office-based with some flexibility)
Salary: 35,000 - 40,000 (pro rata)
Start: ASAP

We're supporting a well-known global financial services business in Watford as they look to bring in an experienced Finance Assistant on an initial 6-month contract. While this is a fixed-term role to begin with, there's a strong possibility it could become permanent for the right person.

This is a great opportunity for someone with strong reconciliation and finance operations experience who's confident working across multiple entities and contributing to process improvements.

The role will involve:
Reconciling intercompany balances and investigating discrepancies
Clearing suspense accounts and chasing unreconciled items
Supporting with PSA (PAYE Settlement Agreement) calculations
Helping allocate balances accurately and efficiently
Supporting compliance checks (Know Your Supplier)
Managing supplier, broker and employee account setup
Administering the bank portal and maintaining the payment rota
Working closely with teams across Finance and Operations to meet deadlines
Getting involved in ongoing process improvement projects

What they're looking for:
5+ years' experience in a finance or accounting support role
AAT qualified or actively studying
Strong reconciliation and finance admin experience (AP/AR knowledge useful)
Comfortable with Excel and finance/accounting software
A proactive and organised team player who enjoys problem-solving
Right to work in the UK (no visa sponsorship)
