Job summary

TreasurySpring is seeking a Finance Assistant to join our London-based finance team and support day-to-day transactional activities. You will handle invoices, expenses, payroll, VAT, reconciliations and month-end processes while working with a scaling fintech company.

This role offers early-career growth in a fast-paced environment, reporting to the Financial Controller and contributing to financial controls and processes.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years' experience in a Finance Assistant or similar transactional finance role.
• Part qualified AAT, CIMA or ACCA, or actively studying towards.
• Accounts payable experience.
• A strong grasp of debits and credits and core bookkeeping principles.
• A solid understanding of VAT coding, including reverse charge.
• Good excel skills including data analysis and manipulation.
• Knowledge of Xero would be beneficial.
• Highly organised, with excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Able to work at pace and stay composed under pressure.
• Ability to converse and liaise with people at all levels.
• A good team player who is comfortable picking up ad hoc tasks as they arise.

Responsibilities

• Process supplier invoices and expense claims using Xero, Airwallex and Soldo, chasing the wider team for receipts and correct coding.
• Manage the accounts payable ledger and prepare supplier payment runs.
• Complete regular bank reconciliations.
• Maintain the fixed asset register, ensuring assets are correctly recognised and depreciated in line with policy.
• Process monthly payroll and pension calculations.
• Prepare P11Ds and the annual PAYE Settlement Agreement (PSA) return for HMRC.
• Collate quarterly bonus returns from the team, including how individuals choose to take their bonus (cash, pension or share options).
• Prepare and submit VAT returns, applying the correct VAT coding throughout.
• Prepare accruals and prepayments, supporting accurate month end numbers within the trial balance.
• Support the Financial Controller with month end reporting and the year end external audit.
• Help the wider team with ad-hoc finance-related requests & queries

Finance Assistant

As a Finance Assistant at TreasurySpring, you will be at the heart of our day-to-day finance operations, reporting into the Financial Controller. From processing invoices, expenses and payroll through to VAT returns, reconciliations and month-end, you will own a broad range of transactional finance activity and see exactly how the numbers come together. This is an excellent opportunity for someone early in their finance career to build strong technical foundations and grow with a scaling company.

What we’re looking for: Requirements
