Overview

Working in a small and busy finance team, this assistant role is a great opportunity to work closely with the Financial Controller and get involved in how the finance department operates. The finance team work closely to support the business to be an award winning industry leader, taking pride in providing high quality products and top level customer service, the other departments include the workshop, office, sales teams and warehouse. The finance team are at the hub of the business operations and the priorities are ever changing; this Finance Assistant role requires a strong team player and someone who is highly organised to adapt to a changing workload.

Responsibilities
  • Processing sales payments
  • Daily bank reconciliations
  • Credit Control
  • Matching and processing purchase invoices
  • General finance administration and report generation
  • Month End journal posting including reconciliations
  • Assisting with Sales and Purchase Ledger month end closing
  • Supporting year-end processes
  • Assisting Financial Controller with adhoc tasks
  • Dealing with internal and external queries by telephone and email
Qualifications and experience
  • Strong skills and experience within a finance related role
  • Ideally you will have AAT qualification or equivalent or be studying towards
  • Proficiency in Excel, including knowledge of VLookups and Pivot tables
Requirements and expectations
  • Reliable, detail-focused individual who can work independently
  • Flexible and adaptable to changing priorities
  • Team player with good communication skills
Location, hours and benefits
  • Full-time onsite role with free parking
  • On rural location on the outskirts of Winchester; own transport preferable
  • Hours: 8.30am to 5pm, Monday to Friday
  • Benefits: 20 days holiday, rising with service, a pension and company discount scheme
