Job summary

The City of Doncaster Council is seeking a Finance Assistant to join their Treasury Management team. The role involves daily banking tasks, assisting with financial monitoring, and supporting year-end activities. Ideal candidates will be studying for AAT or equivalent, have financial experience, and strong skills in Microsoft Office. Job description

We are looking for a Finance Assistant.

You will be expected:-

  • To work within the Treasury Management team and complete daily banking and cashflow processes.
  • To assist with the preparation of financial monitoring, including ledger maintenance and reconciliations.
  • To assist with the completion of statistical returns.
  • To assist with financial year end activities in accordance with agreed processes and timescales.
  • To provide administrative support to the team.

Qualifications and requirements :-

  • Actively studying towards the AAT qualification or equivalent, or willing to work towards the qualification.
  • A minimum of 1 years’ experience gained in a financial management environment preferably at least some in a public sector environment.
  • Willingness to be flexible in hours worked and to accommodate peaks in workload.
  • Knowledge (preferably advanced) of and ability to utilise Microsoft Office based packages (e.g. power point, excel, word).

Knowledge and or experience of local authority finance systems preferable, however training will be provided.

Location: Hybrid –Sandwell Council House Oldbury (minimum 2 days) and Home Working
