Job summary

Are you a detail-driven finance professional looking to join a supportive, close-knit team? This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing, family-run business that truly values its people and offers the chance to work closely with a knowledgeable Finance Manager.

We're looking for an experienced Finance Assistant to support day-to-day financial operations across a group of companies. This role offers variety, responsibility, and the chance to be part of a business where your input matters and a strong team culture.

Responsibilities of the Finance Assistant:
  • Monitor finance inboxes and handle queries efficiently
  • Process and review invoices, expenses, and credit card transactions
  • Accurately enter and manage financial data using Sage 200
  • Perform daily bank and intercompany reconciliations
  • Assist with month-end and year-end reporting, including prepayments, accruals, and journals
  • Support budgeting, reporting, and audits
  • Help maintain costing schedules and analyse changes
  • Set up new supplier/client accounts and ensure complete documentation
  • Supervise and support a small finance team
  • Contribute ideas for improving finance processes
Requirements of the Finance Assistant:
  • At least 2 years' experience in a finance role
  • AAT qualified or currently studying
  • Solid experience in both purchase and sales ledger
  • Sage 200 experience is essential
  • Confident with Excel and other Microsoft Office applications
  • Strong time management and communication skills
  • A proactive, supportive team player who can also work independently
