Job description

Lusona is working with our client to source suitable applicants for the post of Finance Assistant based on site at their Head Office based in South Lanarkshire on a fixed term contract basis for 6 months possibly longer.

The Finance Assistant role is an exceptional opportunity for a self-motivated individual looking for a role where they can develop the role and play a key part in growing a leading business.

This role will be office based but does offer flexible working and our client would look at candidates looking for full time hours or reduced hours approx. 28 hours.

Duties Will include:

  • Managing Credit Control Ledger and any queries re payments
  • Chasing overdue invoices and payments via telephone and email
  • Ensuring payments are on track to be paid within the agreed terms, working towards targets for cash collection to reduce outstanding debt exposure
  • Carrying out thorough credit checks for new customers to ensure eligibility for both credit and credit insurance cover
  • Building and maintain strong relationships with debtors
  • Process Accounts Payable invoices
  • Process invoices and follow up with clients and suppliers’ queries
  • Suppliers and customers account monthly reconciliation
  • Maintaining positive relationships with customers, while effectively mitigating credit risks and ensuring timely collections
  • Support for month end activities and general analysis
  • Participate in quarterly and annual audits
  • Update financial spreadsheets with daily transactions
  • Filing and adhoc accounts administration

As a Finance Assistant you will become an essential part of the small team, supporting the financial operations and ensuring the smooth handling of accounts-related tasks. You will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, so our client is looking for a good communicator with strong attention to detail, knowledge of Ms Excel would be advantageous.
