As a leading telecoms provider, our customers are at the heart of everything we do, and we’re looking for the right person to join us as part of our growing team.

The Role of Finance Assistant:

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Finance Assistant to join our dynamic and fast-paced Finance team. This is an exciting opportunity for a part-qualified finance professional to play a pivotal role in supporting the financial operations of the UK business and our Danish sister company based in Copenhagen.

The successful candidate will ensure accurate financial reporting and analysis that drives informed decision-making across the business. This hands-on role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to both day-to-day operations and the ongoing transformation of our finance function, improving processes, reporting, and control frameworks.

Based in Telford, you also will work with stakeholders in Denmark, both remotely and in-person if required. Strong communication, organisational, and relationship-building skills will be essential for success in this cross-border role.

The role may require some occasional travel to Denmark.

Key Responsibilities as a Sales Administrator:

  • Support in the preparation of timely and accurate monthly management accounts, including journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Assist in preparing monthly variance analysis by comparing actual results to budget and forecast, helping to identify key differences and supporting the finance team in summarising findings for internal use
  • Support the budgeting and forecasting process by gathering financial data, updating spreadsheets, and coordinating with other departments to ensure accurate information is provided
  • Assist with the monthly billing process and help maintain reports to track recurring revenue by customer and product, ensuring data is accurate and up to date
  • Reconcile key supplier invoices to ensure completeness of revenue and accuracy of cost inputs
  • Assist in the development of monthly KPI reporting to track and understand the business’s financial and operational performance
  • Provide basic financial support to other departments or cost centres by sharing relevant reports and assisting with routine finance queries
  • Provide support during the annual audit process, working closely with the Finance Manager and external auditors
  • Assist in the preparation of weekly and monthly aged debt reports, providing analysis to help assess collection trends and support the Billing and Collections team in improving cash recovery performance
  • Support the direct debit process by setting up new mandates, handling cancellations, and preparing monthly submissions to ensure accurate and efficient collections
  • Provide support in completing ad-hoc tasks and responding to information requests from group functions, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of data and reports
  • Continuously identify opportunities to improve finance processes, systems, and internal controls

Who we are looking for:

  • Part-qualified accountant (AAT, CIMA, ACA, ACCA) with 2–3 years of relevant experience in financial reporting and analysis
  • Proven experience in a fast-paced environment, ideally within a corporate or group structure
  • Good understanding of the month-end process and ability to meet tight reporting deadlines
  • Excellent Microsoft Excel skills and proficiency with other Microsoft Office applications
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret large datasets accurately and efficiently
  • Solid interpersonal skills, both verbal and written, in order to effectively engage with a wide range of stakeholders from multiple countries
  • Good attention to detail, with a methodical and results-oriented approach
  • Confident communicator with the ability to engage effectively with stakeholders across different functions and geographies
  • A collaborative team player with a proactive attitude and a desire to learn and develop professionally
  • Fluency in Danish is an advantage but not essential

What’s in it for me?

  • 23 days holiday (more for long service) plus an extra day off for your Birthday.
  • Hybrid working available after probation period.
  • Enhanced maternity and paternity pay.
  • Company Pension.
  • Healthcare scheme and life cover.
  • Great working hours Monday to Friday, no evening or weekend working.
  • Amazing Savings with Perkbox – access to hundreds of discounts.
  • The ability to develop and progress your career.
  • Be part of a high growth and very exciting European wide group, that prides itself on innovation, collaboration and strong customer focus.
