Job description

Purpose of Role:

Our client is seeking a self-motivated, enthusiastic individual to join their Finance team in the role of Finance Assistant. The successful candidate will support their Financial Controller and Management Accountant ensuring controls, reconciliations, related transactions and reporting obligations across all supported businesses are managed accurately and in a timely manner.

You will work 40 hours a week, Monday to Friday 8am-5pm. This is a 100% on-site role.

Due to our remote location and limited public transportation options, candidates must have their own means of transport for daily commuting.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Monthly management accounts to include reconciliations, journals and preparation of management accounts and VAT return
  • Reconcile and process duty invoices and escalate any discrepancies.
  • Maintain fixed asset registers to record the assets for each company.
  • Reconciling to capital projects and ensuring assets are correctly recorded and capitalised.
  • Internal weekly and monthly reconciliations and reporting for specified business areas, providing explanations and analysis to support business needs.
  • Maintain and update pricing and calculation Master data tables within ERP system.

The successful applicant will be expected to display the following skills and attributes:

  • AAT qualified studying for CIMA/ACCA professional qualification or the desire to continue their learning
  • Advanced excel skills to manipulate data in spreadsheets, create lookups, pivot tables, advanced formulae etc.
  • Demonstrate attention to detail.
  • Productive either as a team worker or when working alone and possess the ability to work under pressure.
  • Experience of working within an accounting department within an established company using an ERP system.
