Job description

The Hours: Part Time - 3 days per week

We are delighted to be representing our client as they continue to grow and recruit an experienced Finance Assistant into their team. This is a fantastic position for somebody who is looking for a part time, flexible role. Our client is looking for somebody 3 days per week, but are flexible how these hours are worked whether across 3, 4 or 5 days per week. This is an office-based role – our client have curated a wonderful working environment, and would love their new employee wholeheartedly be part of the team.

This will be a varied, and fast-paced finance role, and we are looking to speak to candidates who are already experts using Xero and Excel. There are exciting opportunities to grow within the company and role, and the successful candidate will be part of a truly special business who are doing amazing things and really putting Sheffield on the map.

Typical duties the Finance Assistant will eb responsible for will include the following; - General Bookkeeping – management of the finance inbox and ensuring all queries are handled in a timely fashion – Working closely with management to ensure all reports and queries are managed efficiently – Using Xero to ensure all financial records are kept accurately up to date – Ensuring each project accurately works to budget – Tracking financial performance of each project and reporting to management – Implementing new financial records and procedures to ensure the business is working as efficiently as possible – Managing all expenses across the business – Using Xero, accurately preparing management accounts each month and reporting these to management -Supporting the team with wider budgeting and finance forecasting – Collaborating with external Accountants – Liaising with external Accountants regarding payroll, VAT returns and end of year accounts – Other financial tasks as required

We would love to hear from Finance Assistants who have the following skills and experience; - AAT qualification or equivalent (ideally but not essential) – Solid professional experience working within a finance department – Fully proficient using Xero – Confident using Excel – Professional and confident managing relationships with internal and external stakeholders – Exceptional communication skills – Confident and happy working in a flexible and fast-paced environment – Budgeting and forecasting experience – High levels of accuracy – Friendly and enjoys working as part of a growing and collaborative team
