About the role

We are looking for a motivated Senior Finance Analyst to join our Enterprise Finance Services (EFS) team. This is a key leadership role within our Order to Cash (O2C) function, responsible for overseeing cash application and reconciliation. You will manage a team of three Finance Assistants, driving performance and ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency across cash management activities. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with strong analytical skills to make an impact.

Key responsibilities

Reporting to the Finance Manager and leading a team of 3 Finance Assistants, you will be accountable for the effective day-to-day operations of cash management and order to cash processes, while contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.

Key responsibilities include:

· Manage, mentor, and support a team of three Finance Assistants within the O2C team.

· Allocate work, set priorities, and ensure team targets are consistently met.

· Provide training and development to enhance team capability and performance.

· Oversee accurate and timely processing of incoming payments and reconciliation of bank accounts.

· Investigate and resolve complex discrepancies in cash application and reconciliation.

· Monitor and manage unallocated cash balances and ageing reports over month end.

· Work cross-functionally with Credit Control, Sales, and Customer Service teams to resolve payment issues and streamline processes.

· Act as the point of escalation for internal and external queries related to cash management.

· Ensure compliance with internal policies, financial controls, and audit requirements.

· Lead or contribute to projects aimed at improving finance processes, systems, and reporting tools.

· Identify opportunities for automation and best practice adoption within the O2C function.

What you'll need to have

· Proven experience in a finance operations role, with significant focus on cash management or accounts receivable.

· Team management skills with the ability to coach and develop others.

· Advanced analytical skills and attention to detail.

· Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g. pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, basic formulas).

· Excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach.

· Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.

It would be great if you also have

These are desirable skills or experience and are not essential, so we would welcome applications from candidates that don't match this additional criteria.

· Previous experience with SAP or similar ERP systems.

· A part-qualified or fully qualified finance certification (e.g. AAT, ACCA, CIMA).

· Experience in leading process improvement initiatives.
