Our client is a not-for-profit organization based in central Milton Keynes. We promote and advance the art, science and technology of acoustics in all their aspects. This involves running events and conferences, publishing a bi-monthly magazine and delivering training courses.

We are seeking an experienced Finance Assistant to join their team.

The Institute seeks a motivated finance professional to be responsible for the day to day bookkeeping of the organisation’s financial transactions. This role is to support the finance department in maintaining accuracy and efficiency of their financial operations.

Your key responsibilities include:

  • Expense management
  • Monthly reconciliation and reporting
  • Credit control
  • Team collaboration

We are seeking a candidate who has the following attributes:

  • Accounting knowledge: Solid understanding of accounting principles and procedures; evidence of AAT or other equivalent book-keeping qualifications preferred.
  • Varied accounting software use: In depth experience of different accounting packages and use of Dynamics NAV or Business Central would have distinct advantage
  • Problem-solving skills: Ability to identify and resolve issues effectively
  • Strong customer service skills: Ability to handle customer enquiries and resolve issues professionally and effectively.
  • Communication skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Organisational skills: Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise effectively.
  • Technical skills: Proficiency in relevant accounting software and systems, advanced Excel.
