Job description

Hours: Availability between the weeks commencing 2nd and 16th June, 9:00am–3:00pm, with flexibility on which days.

Salary: £16.81 per hour

An exciting temporary opportunity has arisen for a Finance Administrator to join our client, a well-established and respected educational institution based in Solihull, this role is to provide short-term holiday cover within a welcoming and supportive team environment.

The successful candidate will be a confident, personable, and detail-oriented individual, providing finance and administrative support to the Finance Director. This varied and fulfilling role is ideal for someone who enjoys staying organised, shows initiative, and takes pride in supporting the daily operations of a finance team.

Duties includes

  • Support the Finance Director with admin tasks like filing, data entry, and invoice input.
  • Process and scan purchase orders and invoices into the finance system.
  • Handle finance-related queries from staff, clients, or other contacts.
  • Manage event/project balances, process payments, and close accounts.
  • Prepare and send regular invoices and statements.
  • Draft and send standard finance letters.
  • Monitor purchase ledger and cashbook, flagging any issues.
  • Assist with other admin or finance tasks as needed.

Skills and experience required:

  • Previous experience in a Finance Assistant or similar role.
  • A high degree of self-management and initiative.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel and Word.
  • Exceptional organisational skills with keen attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Effective time management skills, with the ability to prioritise and meet deadlines.
  • Experience using IRIS software would be advantageous.
  • Possess a polite, friendly, and professional demeanour.
