Job description

Our client is looking for a motivated Finance Assistant to join a busy and supportive finance team. Reporting to the Head of Finance, you’ll play a key role in ensuring smooth day-to-day financial operations, from ledger management and payroll support to credit control and reporting.

This is a great opportunity for someone with strong organisational skills and attention to detail who is looking to develop their finance career within a well-established business.

Key Responsibilities of Finance Assistant:
  • Raise sales invoices accurately and promptly, while managing billing enquiries professionally.
  • Assist payroll colleagues in processing weekly payroll across all departments.
  • Maintain purchase ledger records, ensuring all financial processing is accurate and timely.
  • Assess customer credit applications, monitor payments, and follow up on overdue invoices.
  • Produce and develop weekly and ad-hoc reports for internal stakeholders.
  • Assist in the preparation and analysis of management accounts when required.
Essential:
  • Confident with IT systems, including spreadsheets, word processing, and databases.
  • Strong administrative skills and experience in maintaining detailed records.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workload and manage competing deadlines.
Desirable:
  • Previous finance administration experience.
  • Familiarity with Pegasus Opera 3 (Payroll and Accounts).
  • Experience producing financial documentation using IT systems.
