A public service ombudsman in Manchester is seeking a highly organised individual to join their Finance Team. The role involves operational activities related to banking, payments, and income collection. The ideal candidate should have proven experience with double entry book-keeping and strong IT skills. This role offers a chance to contribute significantly to the team's success.
We are the final stage for complaints about the NHS in England and public services delivered by the UK Government. We look into complaints where someone believes there has been injustice or hardship because an organisation has not acted properly or fairly or has given a poor service and not put things right.

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our Finance Team in the Manchester office.
We are hoping to attract a highly organised individual, with the ability to work on their own initiative as well as part of the wider team.
Reporting to the Finance Officer you will be responsible for undertaking the day –to –day operational activities of PHSO’s banking, payments and income collection services.
The successful candidate will have proven experience of double entry book-keeping, including basic accounting concepts such as accruals and prepayments, as well as familiarity with banking requirements; travel and subsistence rules; and payments and purchasing processes.
Knowledge of Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processes and systems, as well as strong IT skills, including Outlook, Word and Excel is essential.
