Legal Finance Assistant - International Law Firm | London

An international law firm is seeking a proactive Legal Finance Assistant to join its London Business Support team. This hire will play a key role in supporting day-to-day financial operations, billing activity and wider reporting functions across the firm.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Assisting with invoice processing, expense submissions and payroll support
  • Providing billing support to legal teams, ensuring accuracy and compliance with firm policies
  • Maintaining financial records including ledgers, journals and client billing documentation
  • Monitoring accounts receivable and coordinating follow-up actions on outstanding payments
  • Supporting the firm's benefits programme and monthly finance reporting
  • Preparing WIP, time summary and cost reports using Excel Assisting with SRA Accounts Rules compliance and internal financial controls
  • Processing vendor payments and ensuring timely settlement
  • Providing administrative support including archiving, document management and file maintenance

Candidate profile:

  • Prior finance experience in a law firm or professional services environment
  • Strong Excel and MS Office skills, with excellent IT troubleshooting ability
  • Detail-focused, highly organised and confident under pressure
  • Strong communicator with a professional, client-focused approach
  • Flexible, collaborative and comfortable managing multiple touchpoints in a fast-paced team
