A teacher's association based in London is seeking a part-time Finance Assistant to handle financial tasks such as processing payments and managing records. Based in the NEU Hamilton House (London, WC1H 9BD)
Permanent, part-time (3 days per week)
Commencing salary £44,581 per annum (to bepaid pro-rata)

The successful candidate will contribute to theadvancement of the union’s aims supporting the local finance function. Thetasks are divided across the team at the discretion of the Local FinanceManager and include processing and validating payments to members anddistricts/branches, recording the financial returns and Unity bank accountadministration and providing support and guidance to colleagues and members onsubmissions of honoraria, sustentation, and other matters under the localfinance regulations.
We are seeking applicants with the ability to workunder pressure and deliver to critical deadlines. Candidates must have good ITskills, be intermediate users of Microsoft Office, especially Excel, and haverelevant computerised financial systems experience e.g. Sun Accounting.
They will demonstrate up-to-date knowledge ofrelevant financial and accounting practices and procedures necessary forperformance of the role; experience of completing financial reconciliationprocesses; excellent attention to accuracy and detail; good communicationskills, including active listening skills, and the ability to relate to a rangeof people.
In addition to salary, we offer good conditionsincluding 33 days annual leave plus Christmas closure days and a generoussalary pension scheme.
